Cookie Policy

1. The short version

The ForeverChat chat widget does not set third-party cookies on your website. The visitor session is kept in the widget’s own iframe local storage, not in a cookie readable across sites. The ForeverChat dashboard (that your team logs into) uses a single first-party session cookie.

2. Widget storage

When a visitor opens the chat, the widget stores a session token in the iframe’s localStorage (keyed by your app ID). This lets a returning visitor continue the same conversation. It is not shared with other websites and is not used for advertising.

3. Dashboard cookies

The ForeverChat app sets a first-party session cookie so agents stay logged in. It is strictly necessary for the app to function and is removed when you log out.

4. Your responsibilities

You remain responsible for your own site’s cookie banner and disclosures. Because the widget avoids third-party cookies, it is straightforward to categorize as a functional / communication tool in most consent frameworks.
